The content of my images are autobiographical—in the sense that they address my insecurities and how it relates to my identity. My insecurities have shaped my experiences, hopes and outlook on life. I use the photos and screen prints to both visualize and vocalize my two major insecurities—my hearing and my speech. In contrast, I have provided my one source of confidence, or rather my emotional security blanket, which is my hair. The main focus of the prints is to represent my thoughts and frustrations through words. The screen prints not only compliment the photos by providing verbal insight, but also tie in to the colors in the photos.
