I create art because I like the creation process. I enjoy watching the evolution of my pieces form into the completed work. I am a very detailed oriented person and I feel photography allows me the opportunity to control the pieces at its many stages—from set-up to the lighting to the final coloring and printing. In contrast to photography, I like screen printing for the idiosyncrasies each individual print creates—it gives a sense of uniqueness and spontaneity to help balance out the precision I take in photography. I am very involved in the creation and so when my image is done I want the viewer to feel that involvement—by observing every detail and nuance. I hope when the audience examines the piece that they feel a part of me.
